When we attended Nature Library (Nature Education PD) we were blown away with the fun and interactive activities, the amazing resources and the professional development we received...we use the resource regularly with our Green School NZ learners…who now take an active role in delivering the sessions and seeing them lead lessons is awesome...the natural world is a giant, open-ended learning laboratory and our learners love every minute of it...We would highly recommend other educators to take part in Nature Library and we look forward to the next resource - Di and Mark (Green School NZ)

Thank you Kathy the course was really enjoyable. For me I found the practical and the unique creative ideas so helpful and inspiring. We are so incredibly grateful to have found Kathy and her Nature Kids program! Our seven year old daughter was becoming increasingly anxious about attending school and lacking confidence in herself and her abilities. She connected with Kathy right away, feeling more safe and secure in the small group setting of Nature Kids than in a busy classroom environment. This has allowed her to feel more confident in sharing her ideas and asking questions as well as trying new things she never thought she was capable of. I have noticed a huge difference in my daughters approach to learning, she is more likely to keep trying if she makes a mistake and has more confidence when reading aloud and sharing ideas with her peers. School drop offs are also getting easier as she learns how to feel safe away from mum, which comes down to Kathy’s ability to help the kids feel nurtured, heard and looked after. I also have to mention the awesome nature kids! Never have I met such a kind, thoughtful, polite and fun group of kids! Both myself and my daughter were absolutely blown away with the welcome we received on her first session. I am so blessed to have discovered Nature Kids. Our daughter began by going with a friend due to anxiety and shyness, but Kathy has shown such compassion and care that our once quiet girl comes home buzzing with stories of all that they have done during the day – and she no longer even needs the security of a friend. Kathy has helped to build up her confidence and resilience, and has fostered such an interest and curiosity in the world around her. Our son went for the first time this school holidays and he’s already counting down to the next school holidays. I love how it’s all outdoors, how the kids learn to appreciate nature, to stop and explore the world around them. The kids love teaching us all that they’ve learnt, and we love that Kathy is helping to grow their love of the outdoors. I feel so grateful for what Kathy is able to offer the kids of The Bay and dearly hope that she’ll be able to keep on doing it for many years to come. - Charlotte
Harry has done 6 terms with Kathy now every week he lives for Nature Kids! It’s helped him at school, in his home life and he is such an empathetic, adventurous and nature loving boy... characteristics nurtured by Kathy every week. The Nature Kids Weekday class at the Mount is my daughters highlight each week. She absolutely loves going and has just made sure I’m booking her in for her third term. It is some combination of delight in nature, presence in nature, the way Kathy guides and supports them as individuals and the small group of kids that make this such an enjoyable, relaxing and positive learning day for her. Our family loves Nature Kids. Bayley has a fantastic day with Kathy once a week. He has really enjoyed exploring both the Mount Beach and Te Puna Quarry with Kathy and the Nature Kids. His highlights are touching a shark, making new friends, and finding really cool shells. He learns so much with Kathy and loves sharing his new knowledge with our family each week. My daughter Lana has been going to the Nature Kids school holiday program every school holidays since Kathy started. Lana loves the outdoors and nature and this program is just perfect. I asked her what was her favourite part of Nature Kids and she said ‘everything!’ When we go for a walk around the Mount now Lana has so much information that she loves to share thanks to Kathy’s informative walks. It’s such a great school holiday program as the kids are learning, getting exercise and having lots of fun! - Kirrily
Kathy empowered my daughter Maddi's learning. Maddi and her friend had so much fun and learnt so much going to the nature library holiday programme. She gained knowledge so many wonderful new things about birds, bugs and nature. She spread her awareness to her family and friends.
