Welcome to Grounded Gatherings.

Through a grounding day in nature your tweens and teens will cultivate calm, connection and confidence. Our days focus on mindfulness and emotional regulation through nature connection and experiences. Including nature art, journalling, seasonal wisdom and somatic practices.

For tweens and teens from 11 to 16 years.

Nature Library and Grounded Gatherings is created and led by Kathy Broadhead, a qualified, experienced, caring educator and guide. We value relationship and weave our kaupapa of Respect for self, others and nature through all we do.

With our dedicated small groups, youth also develop strong social-emotional skills through meaningful connect with others and have nurturing 1:1 support.

Our Days Together

At Grounded Gatherings, we spend our day connecting with and exploring nature to support our holistic wellbeing.

Our experiences can include a focus on:

Created and Held by,

Kathy Broadhead (MEd, PGDipT, BSc), a qualified and experienced teacher and environmental educator with over 25 years working in a variety of education roles. Kathy is a supportive and nurturing educator, she created Nature Kids in 2018 and started Nature School in 2019, you can read more here. Grounded Gatherings is a new offering based on recent work with tweens and teens in schools, Kathy’s own connection with nature and the enormous support it provides for grounding in life (backed by research and personal experience).

At Nature Library we value relationship and weave our kaupapa of respect for ourselves, others and nature through all we do.

A grounding pause one-day-a-week from mainstream school - under the Education Act, schools may provide authorisation to attend education outside school. It is also perfect for homeschoolers.

Includes:

  • A nourishing day in nature from 9am to 2.30pm

  • Small group sizes (1-8 ratio)

  • Nature Journal for use during our sessions (and at home)

  • Afternoon sharing circle with tea and treats (provided) under the trees

Cost:

  • Introductory Days ~ $75 per day ~ $200 for 3 days

  • Full Term ~ Starting Term 2 ~ $600 - 8 week term

    All prices are GST inclusive

When and Where:

  • Te Puna Quarry Park, Tauranga

  • Starting with Introductory Days in March ~ Wednesday 12th, 19th and 26th

  • Term 2 will be an 8 week term with one group ~ this allows for more safety and deeper connection within the group and in our kaupapa.

  • Bookings are essential as numbers are limited

  • Grounded Gatherings is completely nature-based, drop-off and pick-up point are at Te Puna Quarry Park
