Nature Kids Adventure Club is our popular School Holiday Programme for kids who are keen to explore, create and adventure!

Our fun and fascinating School Holiday Programme gets your kids outdoors - exploring and connecting with nature. It combines creative and adventurous experiences and free nature play for caring and curious kids.

Completley based in nature, in our beautiful backyard, Mount Maunganui, Tauranga & Waihi Beach

 

Nature Kids:

  • Have fun-filled School Holidays connecting and learning in nature
  • Explore birds, bees, rock pools, trees - and lots more!
  • Are part of a small group of caring kids
  • Develop their creativity and curiosity
  • Build their confidence, self-esteem, problem-solving skills and sense of wonder
  • Are guided by an experienced, qualified teacher / environmental educator

April Ambles:

Nature Kids is a completely nature-based programme and as such our base changes depending on the green-space we are operating from on any given day (see above schedule). Drop off and Pick up are at our base for the day. 

No two days are the same at Nature Kids as Nature always has something magic to share with us. Our daily theme is based on where we are exploring and the Nature Kids joining us. Our days include Exploring Nature, Learning through Experience, Creating Nature Art, Drawing, Free Nature Play, and more.

Some of our Holiday Programme Activities Include:

  • Our popular Mount Mission - a clue-following nature trail discovering the Mount's coolest features and creatures!
  • Terrific Trees - exploring, ageing, measuring, identifying and climbing.
  • Bird Nerd - spotting, identifying and making a feeder for feathered friends.
  • Magical Mini Beasts - bug exploration and making a cool Bug Hotel.
  • Shell Safari - learning about shells and the cool creatures that live in them. Creating a nature necklace to take home.
  • Nature Treasure Hunts - includes creating a Nature wand or journey stick from nature treasure found.
  • Rock Pool Ramble - exploring rockpools & learning about their inhabitants, tides, rock formations & shrimp-icures (shrimp permitting).
  • The Bees Knees - everything you ever wanted to know (and more) about the wonderful world of bees.
  • Soft Shore Scramble - who can we find living on the soft shore? There are so many weird and wonderful creatures and plants to explore.
  • SO SO many more adventurous and creative experiences exploring Nature.

School Holiday Programme Details - the nitty-gritty.

Who: Kids aged 6 to 12 years

Where: My School Holiday Programme is great for kids who live in the Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa or Waihi Beach areas. Our base varies depending on the day (see above schedule). We set up our shelter and adventure off from base and are outdoors all day. Drop off and Pick up are at our base for the day.

When: Nature Kids Adventure Club runs during each of the Primary School Holidays. 9 am to 3pm each day.

What to Bring: Sturdy shoes/sneakers, rainproof jacket, layered clothing, backpack with a sun hat, water bottle and food for the day (we love a litterless lunch box).

Book the kids for one day, or a few days.

Cost: $55 per child/per day

We Provide: Caring and supportive nature-based experiences, both creative and adventurous. Very small groups, so children are not just a number. A Nature Journal to use during the school holiday programme and to take home. Pukeko Poo (aka hot or cold chocolate) for afternoon tea.

Bookings: Are essential and numbers are limited (maximum 7 per group)
