Harry is one of my Nature Kids. He recently wrote a letter which made my heart burst. I asked Harry & his Mum if I could share it with you all.
Hi KCC, my name is Harry. I am 7 years old and I go to Nature Kids on a Thursday, which is a programme during school time. Kathy is the teacher and she is amazing. We meet at Mount Drury in a tent which is our base for the day. Only 5 people are allowed to do it. My school principal said I could do it as I needed his permission to do "alternative learning" one day a week! We explore nature. We get to explore at morning tea time too... nature, trees and other things. I love it! And my favourite bit is...everything! So far this term we have been bird nerds, learnt about bees, explored the signs of spring and studied trees. Kathy does a school holiday programme too. My teacher at school and even some of my friends are all jealous!
Thank you, Harry! I think YOU are amazing and I love having you at Nature Kids Weekday Sessions.
So, let me tell you a little about Nature Kids Weekday Sessions.
Based on my popular Nature Kids Holiday Programme, weekday (one-day) sessions are nature-based learning experiences for kids ages 6 - 11. The sessions run during the school term and are perfect for homeschoolers or as a one-day* alternative from mainstream school.
Facilitated by me, Kathy Broadhead, qualified and experienced teacher and environmental educator. Each day we explore nature and the season by blending focused educational experiences, child-led learning and nature play. Each one-day session will build on the next, so ideally kids join for the whole 8 weeks.
Term 1, 2019 dates will be coming soon, but until then you can read more about what we've been up too this term by clicking here: Nature Kids

We have had such a wonderful time this term, I can't wait for next year!
